Chapter 175 Elite Squad Vs White-Haired Vampire
"William, cover your eyes."
Huh?
Suddenly, I heard a loud bang before my ears were filled with a ringing sound. As I opened my eyes back up, I saw the vampire holding his eyes. Both Alicar and I rushed in, sensing the opportunity. Unable to effectively defend our attacks, the Duke ended up sustaining several wounds from my [Mayuri-Luc-Ei].
A short moment later, he regained his vision and raised his sword.
"I guess all of you are pretty sneaky, I might have underestimated you guys~"
Suddenly, more blood began leaking out of his arm, towards his already-dark-red blade.
"Sword, drink more blood."
Aura exploded around his body. It puffed out like a cloud, seeping to the edges of the cave. I felt my entire body tense up as some of the aura dribbled onto my skin. It was like there was a voice, telling me to run away. I had to force myself to stay put.

Elanor fired some arrows at the vampire but this time, he easily cut them all down. The arrows split apart and fell all over the floor.
"I\'ve actually got something else to attend to, but you guys are certainly quite strong~"
With that message, he raised his blade and launched a massive red crescent-shaped shockwave. Aura radiated all over, shaving off the sides of the cave and filling my eyes with a large red blur.
What was I going to do now...?
The wave was getting larger and larger, as it got closer to me.
It wasn\'t incredibly fast, but I could tell that it was dangerous.
Suddenly, I felt a vine grab onto my leg.
I felt a large pain in my back.
However, as I looked up, it seemed that I was mostly unhurt. My back was up against a dent in the wall. From the looks of things, it appeared that I had managed to evade the attack. Elanor was laying on the ground and Alicar stood in front of her.
"William, can you do something?!"
I looked over at the vampire who appeared to be preparing another attack.
I had no other choice.
Tengen, how strong can you make your chains?
\'Oh? This is a first.\'
I want you to conjure the strongest chains you can possibly make.
\'I can do that, but do you know the payment?\'
I do not.
\'I\'m not as terrible as Mayuri, but you\'ll be seeing nightmares for a few nights."
That\'s fine.
\'Okay.\'
Chain him down, Tengen.
All of a sudden, the thickest chains I\'ve ever produced wrapped around the arms and legs of the vampire. They were dense, grey chains surrounded by a dark aura. Even the vampire seemed to have been surprised by my ability.
"Oh? You\'ve got more left in the tank?"
He jerked his arm but the chains managed to withstand the strain. With a loud clang, they managed to keep him from moving his arms.
"Not bad~"
As fast as I could, I raised [Mayuri-Luc-Ei] and charged at the vampire. Alicar also got up and dash towards the immobilised vampire. For the first time in the entire fight, the vampire showed an expression which appeared to be stressed.
"Aie... sword, drink my—"
Mayuri, cut him down.
From a point-blank distance, I launched the strongest attack I possibly could. The vampire was too slow to react, the shockwave smashed directly into his body. A huge gush of blood spurted out of the wound. There was even blood dribbling out of the vampire\'s mouth as he looked up in despair.
"...why... can\'t I break out of these chains...?"
Suddenly, one of the chains snapped, freeing his right arm. Before I could land another attack, he retaliated, swinging his powerful red blade at me. I was forced to dive to the side to avoid the shockwave that was launched from his swing.
My back hit the wall of the cave as I looked up at the bleeding vampire.
With a few quick swings, he cut off the rest of my chains. I didn\'t expect them to last all that long anyways. I had achieved my goal. Since he couldn\'t regenerate any of the wounds I gave, he would slowly bleed out. There was a huge gash right in the middle of his chest where I cut him and blood was frantically leaking out.

Very rapidly, he was becoming weaker.
"Damn..."
He quickly scanned the area before quickly turning around.
He was trying to flee.
Before he managed to leave, Alicar got around to the other side of him. He was now stuck in the middle of us, unable to escape. I braced myself for the last skirmish. The vampires had a tendency of drawing out extreme power when they are on the brink of death. I was quite worried about what type of strength this Duke was going to unleash.
"Ah~ I give up."
"Huh?"
He dropped his weapon on the ground and threw his hands up.
"Are you messing with us?" Alicar asked.
"Honestly, I\'m not. I had a fight with the Seventh Progenitor, and as a result, I ended up getting a curse which stops me from drawing out my full power. I\'ve already lost to you."
He didn\'t seem to be lying but it still felt too suspicious.
His weapon was lying on the ground and his hand were in the air. From the looks of things, it didn\'t seem like he had any way to attack us.
Alicar and I stayed on guard, watching him from afar.
"I guess you\'d be cautious. I really am surrendering you know. I don\'t really want to die if it\'s possible~"
I had no idea what to do.
He was surrendering himself to us but was it even worth keeping him? He seemed to be too dangerous to be kept alive.
Trying to catch him off-guard, I quickly charged in and cut off his right up. My blade sliced right through, causing his dismembered arm to drop to the ground.
He still didn\'t move, looking at me with the same neutral expression.
