Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 52: Moon Robe

“Oh, look! There he comes!”

“So he has the V.I.P key for Blade Mountain? Huh? Wait, how come I can’t feel anything coming from him? And also, what is that uniform?”

“Yeah, true. Now that you say it, he has no presence at all. And that white costume… Strange… Why does he have a different one than us?”

While several people discussed spiritedly just what Khal’s Cultivation Stage and his white uniform could be, there were a few that just looked at Khal in silence.

Among the hundreds of onlookers, almost 90% just came to watch a great fight, but the rest came for specific reasons.

For example, Andre, another student of Raffin, came to see the battle just because he was intrigued by Angor. In his eyes, those who were able to reach the Third Cultivation Stage were no simple individuals, so he wanted to know just how strong he was.

As for Alde, Liza and Nate, who sat among the spectators too, came to watch only because of Khal.

Especially Alde. When he heard that Khal had been challenged, he instantly came here to find out Khal’s power. Since the moment Alde saw Khal the very first day after the enrollment day, the memory of him being slammed to the ground by him re-surfaced once again.

Just thinking back how humiliated he felt made his teeth to clatter in pure rage. That’s why he sent assassins to murder him, but for some reason, his assassination failed and what’s more, Khal was able to successfully enroll in Moon Academy! No matter how much he wanted to kill him right now, because his family’s hand couldn’t reach inside Moon Academy, he could do nothing but wait for the right opportunity to get his revenge.

“Just let me see what your true strength is. Once I figure out your weakness, I will torture you to the point you will beg for my mercy!”

On the other hand, Liza and Nate came because they only wanted to see Khal’s performance. Liza already knew what kind of Talent he had, but Nate didn’t. To tell the truth, he didn’t even think Khal would be able to enroll, let alone getting a V.I.P key. That’s why he came in the hope to witness his power.

“How strong is he?” asked Nate curiously next to Liza as he watched the two experts taking their places on the sides.

“In my opinion, no one can beat him in close range thanks to his Talent, but I fear he will have a hard time with that boy.” answered Liza as he looked at Angor on the side.

“Why?”

“I dunno.” shrugged Liza, “I just feel he is exceptionally powerful.”

As Nate heard this, he turned to look at Khal, and a slight smile emerged on his face.

“So not only was he able to get his Talent and a key’s right, but he was also able to obtain that uniform. This guy is way more interesting than I have first thought.”

While people chatted with each other, on the very top of the arena, two figures were standing next to each other in the shadows, staring at the platform in silence.

“So it’s actually real. That man truly gave away the Moon Robe to someone like him. To a boy, who failed to obtain a Talent at the Ceremony.”

Jane, who always seemed calm no matter what looked at Khal with a frozen expression, while in her eyes a mysterious light was swirling gently.

Scarlett, who stood next to her nodded in agreement. She too was stunned when she noticed the uniform on Khal, but unfortunately, she couldn’t do anything about it.

“Once the Moon Robe had been given to a student, no matter if heaven collapse or hell rises, from that moment on, it will be rightfully his. Logan obtained it from us fair and square, so it is his own choice who he gives it to. But to think he would choose someone like him… Unthinkable!”

Both women knew what the Moon Robe indicated and that is why both of them looked at Logan like a complete idiot. To think he gave something as valuable as that to a nobody like Khal, both of them felt anger, depression, and worry.

Yes, worry. They felt concerned because the Moon Robe meant only one thing… The very future of Moon Academy!

“Let’s hope we won’t regret this in the future.” sighed Scarlett helplessly, knowing there was no point of thinking about it now.

As the two watched in silence and the crowd spoke noisily while waiting for the battle to begin, Khal stopped exactly 100 meters away from Angor and stood still.

“I hope you are ready! This master here will crush you in no time at all and obtain the right for Blade Mountain!” with a proud smile, Angor pushed his chest out, showing his arrogance all to see.

Yet, even after Khal heard this he didn’t get mad at all. He knew that Angor was a whole Stage above him, so theoretically, he was the stronger here. He had everything he needed to be this arrogant before so many people, it was not a question.

“Oh? You don’t dare to speak? First, you laugh at me when I challenge you and now you tremble in fear because you know you will lose before hundreds of people? How ironic!” snorted Angor with disdain and smiled smugly, “But don’t worry, if you kowtow before me and beg for forgivness, I will go easy on you so you won’t cry in the end. How about it? Sounds like a deal, right?”

“…”

Instantly as those words sounded, the boisterous crowd quietened down, causing the surrounding to become dead silent. The whole place became so silent that even a pin drop could have been heard as clear as day.

Everyone did meet with different kinds of people in their lives, but none of them met someone as boastful as him. This guy put the definition of arrogance to a whole new level!

“This scoundrel… I definitely need to teach him a lesson after this battle ends.” thought Raffin with a thick vein popping out of his neck and turned to look at Khal. However, the moment he did, his eyes widened slightly.

On the other side of the platform, Khal was standing as calm as the calmest monk, ignoring everything Angor said with a nonchalant face.

If it were anyone else, Raffin was 100% sure they would have become blinded by anger and irritation, but strangely Khal didn’t. He stood still in one place, giving others a kind of feeling that he was the calmest river in the world.

No matter what Angor said in the hope to make him lose his cool, Khal just ignored everything like he didn’t even hear it.

However, what neither Raffin nor no one else noticed, that Khal’s calm gaze, was in fact, the very vestige of an approaching storm.

Since Khal knew himself, he did nothing whenever one bullied him but just smiled. He always let himself be the trash, the one who pleased other’s needs, even if it meant being humiliated before hundreds of people.

Naturally, that was all because he had no power to defend himself against people who were exactly like Angor or Alde in his past life. But luckily, things were completely different now. Not only did he get a second chance to start everything over, but he had the power too. He had precisely everything that it took to beat those who looked down on him and prove he had worth.

And that is exactly what he will do now. Show not only Angor, but everyone present that he had worth!

“I don’t care if you are one or two Stages above me, once you offend me, bear the consequences!” with flickering eyes Khal raised his hand gently before his chest, while a voice sounded in his head.
